Support the Protect Adoptees and American Families (PAAF) Act
A community petition is gathering support for the Protect Adoptees and American Families Act (PAAF), a bipartisan bill designed to provide citizenship protections for internationally adopted adults excluded under current law. The legislation seeks to address a longstanding legal gap that has left many adoptees without the rights and security promised through adoption.
Sneak Peek of Relative Strangers
Join Deann and a panel of special guests for a virtual sneak peek of the film. Hear personal stories from two of the film's protagonists, Tanne Beudeker from The Netherlands and Dr. Darrell Seldon, the brother she discovered via DNA testing; learn about the historical context of mixed-race Korean children fathered by American G.I.s; and get a first look at work-in-progress footage capturing stories that have long been under-represented within adoption and Korean diaspora narratives. ASL interpretation and captioning are available.

Not All Parts Get Adopted - an IFS Retreat for Adoptees
Adoptees are invites to join this fall, Oct. 6–9, when the aspen are changing, at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort in Nathrop, CO, nestled against the beautiful Collegiate Peaks.
Over 3½ days, we will retreat with our parts. In a small community with other adoptees, we will engage in ritual to honor our losses, unburden our hardworking parts of roles that no longer serve them, and welcome the parts that have always believed in us and quietly kept alive our biggest dreams, longings, and aspirations. This will be a time to bring all our parts together. The ones that got adopted and helped us survive relinquishment/removal and adoption. And the ones that have existed outside those traumas and have been waiting for their time to celebrate us and share the joy of who they know we are.
Space is limited to 12.

New Book: The Adoptee's Guide to Healing, Wholeness & Growth by Lynda Monk
The Adoptee's Guide to Healing, Wholeness & Growth, is a new book by adoptee Lynda Monk, MSW, RSW, CPCC. She offers fellow adoptees a gentle yet powerful companion for navigating the emotional terrain of adoption.
This book explores topics related to identity, belonging, loss, love and healing the abandonment wound. It includes over 200 journaling prompts, evocative quotes, personal journal excerpts, and 49 healing touchstones to come home to yourself as an adoptee and remember the radiance of who you truly are.

Adoptee Read-a-Thon Fundraiser
Join us for a fabulous line up of adoptee authors reading from their work. The event is from 12 pm - 8 pm Eastern, with a detailed schedule coming soon. Pop in and out as your favorite authors are reading or stay for the whole day. Recordings will be available to ticket holders after the event, so if you can't be present for the live reading, we've got you covered.
Starting a October 9th at 12 pm eastern, you can bid on silent auction items donated by authors and allies. Items include signed copies of books, expert consultations, and much more. The auction will close at the end of the event on October 17th.
All proceeds will benefit Adoptees for Family Preservation who is currently raising money to support Haley Radke's latest project, the investigative podcast On Adoption, to be released fall of 2026!
New App: Unfolding
Unfolding is a wellbeing app created by adoptees, for adoptees and their village. It offers daily reflection cards, journaling, and breathwork to support identity, connection, and conversation. Coming soon: Community Flows featuring adoption-connected researchers, artists, athletes, podcasters, activists, and everyday people.
Unfolding is currently available on the Apple App Store, with Google Play availability coming in fall 2026.
New Poetry Collection: Living Fossils by Loren Maria Guay
Living Fossils is an award-winning poetry chapbook by Loren Maria Guay, a Paraguayan adoptee. The poems in this new collection use natural history and a series of strange, fascinating creatures (from horseshoe crabs to dinosaur fossils) to explore the complexities of adoption, family, gender, and otherness, especially from the perspective of a transracial, international, and queer/trans adoptee.
Facebook Forum:
T.O.T.O. Telling Our Truth Openly
A Facebook page specifically for Adult Adoptees to be able to talk about anything having to do with their adoption, reunion, how adoption has affected them. It is an Adoptees Only forum featuring daily messages.
The creator and admin of this group is an adult adoptee who has done much of their own restorative work and endeavors to help others do the same, with an appreciation for any opportunity to share their experience, strength, and hope to their peer "others".
Michelle Champeau- Independant Author
Michelle Champeau is an adult adoptee and author creating books, Bible studies, devotionals, and reflective resources for the adoptee community. Her work explores identity, faith, healing, personal growth, and the lived experience of adoption while encouraging adoptees to examine their stories with honesty and hope. These resources may also help adoptive families and adoption professionals better understand the perspectives and experiences of adult adoptees.
Down the Rabbit Hole: The Fight for Texas Adoptee Rights Then and Now
In Texas, adoptees' original birth certificates are still sealed. Author Patricia Knight Meyer, handed over along a hospital curb in 1970, launches her memoir WONDERLAND: Memoir of a Black-Market Adoption with a panel on changing that, Down the Rabbit Hole: Adoptee Rights in Texas Then and Now, moderated by Emily Ramshaw of The 19th.
